Located in the former convent of Saint Chiara, the structure serves as both museum exhibition and multi-cultural centre. The museum part is divided into four exhibition rooms and, through a series of illustrative panels and art, archaeological and ethnographic exhibits, retraces the evolution of Gallese from prehistory to the present day. The training and information activities of the cultural centre are carried out through a multifunctional organization that includes historical archives, library, media and computerised graphics centre, computer database, pottery workshop and multipurpose room for conferences, shows and temporary exhibitions. Worth noting are the section dedicated to artisan and industrial ceramic production and to the ancient local tradition of “zitelle” (old maids), and a wooden crucifix from the 15th century.
